Wow, what a week!! If you are like me at all, you have a good deal of election anxiety. That being said, I think that looking for the good things in the past week is just what I need. I am joining again with Suzanne and other blogging friends over at Living to Tell the Story for Friday's Fave Five. Let's get started.
The Election - Even though it's giving me anxiety, I am grateful for the right and opportunity to vote. I pray that the vote counting will be resolved soon so that we can move forward as a nation. I do love my country.
Taco Tuesday - In an effort to simplify dinnertime, we decided to get tacos for dinner every Tuesday. They were easy and tasty, and Charly and I got free drinks because we are "senior citizens."
Late Afternoon Walks - Charly and I are going for our walks after I get home from school, but even in the late afternoon, you can see how long the shadows are as we walk. We have had warm and lovely afternoons this week, even though by Saturday, snow and winter temperatures are predicted.
Covid Test - Free Covid tests were offered to all students, teachers and staff members who wanted one, so I got one. I am feeling OK, and don't have any Covid symptoms, but I decided to get a test. I should know the results in a day or two. I am thankful that testing was offered at the school free of charge.
Taking a Break - I decided that once again I am tired of the negativity and meanness on facebook, especially regarding the election, so I am taking a break and may make my break from facebook and other social media permanent. I just don't need it. I will stay in Blogland. The people are nicer. I sure am grateful for my blog friends - both those new and those who I have known for a while. You are all just the best!
Kind Words from a Student - Even though some people on Facebook aren't very nice, I did get this very kind message in an email from a student - "Thank you for being a great teacher during this crazy time and adapting to online teaching." Such kind words really can make a day better.
Those are some of the positive things about this very interesting and anxiety-producing week. No matter what is going on, there are always good things to find and plenty to be grateful for.
